I'm undecided about which rigid forks to put on my bike. I much prefer the curves of the Kona P2 type forks, but they're all quite heavy. Considering I'm trying to build a lightweight canal commuter, I really should buy some lightweight carbon RC31 type forks @700gms, otherwise I'm trading the object of the exercise for my vanity.

Post your xc bike pics with Pace, whyte, on one, nukeproof etc etc carbon rigids, please.

This is where I'm at, at the moment

But I've just returned to steel for beefiness having broken the Kona's frame, fork and handlebar in the space of a week. Here's my lovely lovely Salsa Cromoto on the Inbred (950g fork):

My Ibis Tranny with Nuke Proof carbons.

[img] [/img]

I didn't like them (far too noodly) so have SID teams on now. Not sure if this is the same for all straight legged carbon forks, after all, many people go on about how stiff they are .... but these weren't. I have a Nashbar carbon fork aswell, which is much stiffer ... but shorter at 400mm so non sus corrected (was on an old converted SS, now on my road rat). may be good for a canal path commuter though, would give you a nice steep head angle!
