Bought my son his first bmx for christmas and now really fancy buying myself one!Rode and raced bmx for years but not touched one in 15 years!
at 6'3" and in my late thirties wondering if i really should?
Is the idea of taking the wee man down to the local track/dirt jumps
great or a bit sad?(last bit my wife's thoughts!)

I did the same and had a great summer and it does help handling etc as well as being more interetsing than just watching- however my son has now decided to do more park stuff and that's definitely not me. So if youre interested in a Felt Sector xl drop me a mail!

definitely yes.

every 'mountain' biker should have one.

get a 20" for the full razor-sharp experience, get a 24" cruiser for something a little less terrifying.

get one for your wife too.

obviously i had a bmx when i was a kid, but i only really started 'riding bmx' when i was 32 (i'm still 32)

and i've learned more about bike-handling in the last year than i did in the previous 30.

How would one the dream bikes of my youth measure these days? Skyway TA, GT Performer, Haro Freestyler?

Doubt I would do it - just wondering...

Whats the way forward with BMX under £400 if your wanting it fairly light and fast?

Alu v chromo

20 v 24 inch

I'm 6ft, 14st and 42yr old by the way. Had a go on Redline 24" and Intense 20" the other day. Enjoyed both. Perhaps looking to pick up a 2010 bike cheap but lack the knowledge.

oi! Hairy! - don't wait, get one now.

they're ace, they're cheap, and you'll learn loads about bike-handling very quickly.

for years mountain-bikers have been joking with each other, wishing we could buy skills in the same way we buy tyres or brakes.

well, you can. get a bmx.

so much more betterer than £600 on some aero-wheels for the road bike, or £500 on some 15mm forks.

Yeah, but how many times do you end up on your backside in the snow? Once I get my new camera I'll be along to get some evidence.

This might be a bit dangerous.
Just bought my first BMX since my Diatron Wildcat circa 1983.
My wife will kill me if the bike doesn't.

I'm hoping to start riding soon. I have an old s&m that I have never used for what it is ment for. Problem is I have no idea how to ride the ramps at my local indoor park.

Pugwash that Commencal looks so nice! I really wish I could get back into bmx, just last time I couldn't get used to how tiny and twitchy it felt.

unless it's the gnarliest park in the world, there'll be loads of stuff to roll over / around.

start small, start slow, go there often, enjoy it.
