[Closed] Should I avoid the Mendips on Friday?

A few weeks ago I planned a trip to the Mendips for this Friday, as I have never been before. With the notoriously muddy reputation the place has and all of this rain we've been having, I'm starting to think that Quantocks (been a few times) or Ashton Court/Leigh Woods (never been) would be a better option... I spent the weekend at Mayhem, so I feel I've done my share of mud sliding for this month.

What is the general opinion? Has anyone been there in the past few days?

Thanks

It gets slippery and challenging after rain, that's its character. But it's not boggy at this time of year except in the usual trouble-spots which can be mostly avoided. The DH trails will be tricky until we've had a couple of dry days in a row. If your having an aversion for slipperyness at the moment then Quantock Combes tend to be more reliable.

Thanks buzz, it doesn't sound as desperate as I was worried it might be. Perhaps it is worth a go. This week looks set to stay reasonably dry, so I'll keep an eye on things.

We were up there last weekend and it was all fine. couple of the old DH runs trashed by the FC but one new one just built by the trail pixies ๐Ÿ™‚
