are there a standard way to attach liners to shorts or every maker has its own way? I wonder if I buy a liner from another maker how I can affix it to my shorts (liners from my shorts' maker aren't available)

Not sure what the point of attaching them is. I suppose it helps if the outers have some grippy rubber patches on them but I've never had trouble with unattached inners and outers. Looks like a 'vendor lock-in' thing to me.
