Today was my first ride on a freshly built up Mojo SLR frameset that was bought from the classifieds here.
Very nice bike and rides like a 'a lot less flexy' version of my 2007 SC Superlight - which is exactly what I was looking for.
One thing I'm not entirely set on is the rear shock. It's a Fox CTD Kashima thing with a 3 position bar lever. This 2013 model has quite a huge lever and tbh I didn't find myslf using (or needing) anything more than the trail setting.
Is it possible to have the shock looked at by Mojo / TF etc and converted to a simple shock lever, or are there much better shocks out there now to consider?
Forks are X Fusion sweeps in 150mm mode and I like the suspension on the firmer side. Ride pretty much anything apart from downhill runs and am in the main a wheels on the ground type.
Also quite a fatty at 17 stone. (currently have the shock at 270PSI to get the right sag)
£300 - £400 is about the limit.
Any thoughts on either play with what I've got or move to something else would be appreciated.
Ta.
Nice responses 😆
Been for a few rides on it now and have never felt the need to move the rear shock from the trail setting, so will look into removing the cable and retrofitting a level like the RP23 etc.
It has also not bottomed out even down some quick ish rocky descents so maybe I don't need anything different than standard and could possibly even let some of the pressure out.
Would still be interested in thoughts about it if anybody has some
I had a CTD on a 2014 Saracen Ariel I had. Hated it. Sent it to TF to be Pushed and it was a completely different beast. If you talk to TF they will get it tuned to your bike and your personal preferences. For 150 quid it's money well spent.
