brakes, post, saddle, chain, cassette, and pedals off old bike
new cables and tape £10

Ignore them Rob. The bike looks great for that amount of outlay and I'm sure you'll be riding so hard you'll not be able to hear the s****s.

Bar / lever positioning, have a look at the hood angle on most road bike setups. 😉

so should the top of the bars be flat (thought they were but changed stem)

That is deffo £180 well spent. But tuck that mudguard in a bit tighter at the back would you? Cheers!

Whenever I see a Ribble, I always want to get the tippex out and give it a D before the R..

Looks good, especially for good for the price! With regards to the bars, I'd just rotate them down a bit, but if its comfy, leave it where it is.

Anyone else wanting to do similar I have some cheap ritchey road bars and tiagra cranks for sale (cranks have one stuck bolt that I had to hacksaw off so need some extraction easy out type tool on them but the rings are new max of 30 miles on them)
