[Closed] Shipping a bike to Australia...

I'm selling a retro bike valued at around £400 and have a serious buyer in Australia who wants it. I said I'd look into shipping, so naturally thought I'd short-cut the whole process & ask on here. Any thoughts on a not-extortionate way to ship a full bike to Aus? I'm guessing the size might be an issue...I could ship it in multiple boxes perhaps...

Shipped 7 bikes with these guys. A standard bike box is roughly the right size and might need to be trimmed to get the girth measurement right. Just read the rules and have a play with the numbers.

It was around 200/bike up to 32kg when I shipped them air freight and done in 7 days. The buyer will need to get the paperwork in order on time to get it through customs promptly.

^^^mikeWsmith recommended transglobal on a previous thread and I've used them a few times - good value and easy to use

just remember if the numbers are scary just tweak the dimensions a bit, or if not I will collect and deliver for modest expenses (business class not first)

Try Parcelmonkey - I got a quote for a bike to Australia (the sale fell through, so never sent) and the shipping came out at about £120.

Needs to be clean, as in cleaner than new.

yes it absolutely does, as all (none) of my air freight boxes were opened. Make sure your quote is door to door inclusive as inspection charges can be expensive.

Done this a couple of times - just over 100 quid. Worked fine.
