Shimano steps battery

The wife's shimano steps battery (BT-E8010) on her Vitus Sentier ebike is showing an error message which suggests it's knackered as in it won't charge at all.

I take it the only option is to buy a replacement battery? Assume no one repairs these batteries?

The bike barely gets used which is prob the reason the battery has given up.

Speak to Wiggle / CRC - my Vitus developed a fault with the battery and they replaced under warranty. Even if out of warranty you might be able to get some goodwill if you can show it's been used as per instructions and hasn't been to the moon and back.

Cheers, 2 years out of warranty but CRC are putting my case to shimano as v low mileage. Not holding out much hope but you never know.
