I recently blead my saint rear bake, after a little bit it pushed a lot of black stuff into the cup. After that the fluid started to clear.
However now the lever is unresponsive, and won't spring back into position at all. It has also locked the rear brake on now.
Is the lever knackered? any advice appreciated

Yep its knackered. Either replace it under warranty if its still in the warranty period or buy a new lever.

it does seem to randomly pop out as if its working which its done a couple of times, but then it goes back to being unresponsive

My Zee did that, got it warrantied for a complete new brake.
