Are all shimano disc callipers compatible with shimano levers?
Is this compatible Calliper with an old style Deore XT dual control?
Apart from the original xt, their designs have evolved rather than changed, so I'd guess "yes".
That caliper will work with XT dual control levers. On the whole all Shimano levers will work with all Shimano calipers. It is just new XTR that might have issues with older stuff.
As long as you have the Deore connector for the caliper-hose and the connector for hose to brake lever you should be fine.
Whats the part number for your lever?
The newer levers have a different servo but the older ones from Deore and XTR are based on the same cylinder system but having the part number of the lever would help you clear the question up.

Those above actually, which from what I can gather are the same as my XT ones. For brothers supposed new build, he wanted to know if they worked together or not.
I can't imagine they wouldn't work.
Im pretty sure Shimano stuff is all cross compatible.
Barring the M755 (orig XT 2 Pots) and the latest XTR and possibly the saint stuff.
My brakes are a right mish mash, M555 levers with M765 (XT) and M965 (XTR) and they work fine.
Original 4 pot calipers (BR-M755) are fine with all current levers except new XTR.
