Looking at possibly getting an XTR chainset but wasn't too sure whether to wait until January when Madison will review Shimano prices for 2010. Anyone know whether they'll be coming down (surely they can't be going up again like this year's increases!!)?
Any good deals on M970 XTR chainset & bb? Presume Merlin at £275 ish is probably the best there currently is?
Check Europe, Starbike are €295, there's probably cheaper around, as they're rarely the cheapest.
I'll wager they'll either stay the same or go up again.
Based on the companies that have released their 2010 prices lists already they'll go up.
mid 07 the gbp yen rate was 240, it was still at 220 mid 08, at the low point in jan/feb '09 it was under 140, now it has climbed back to 150ish.
On the basis of exchange rates the prices should be a bit more stable, depending on how long contracts are etc.
Raw material costs are creeping back up though so i would not be surprised to see prices rising but not like they have in the last year.
New bike prices have soared this year, components won't go down.
There is no time like the present, buy it now.
