I've tried a few shaving oils and apart from an ancient & defunct Body Shop one they all seem to bloat/stick to the stubble which then clogs up the razor.

Can anyon recommend anything?

For your legs or your face? Or is it the bikini line?

Castrol R. The only oil you need for close shaves

Yup, King of Shaves blue for me as well. The trick is to run hot water through the blades after shaving to help remove the clog

i use the king of shaves blue one as well. you get a big of clogging but nothing detrimental. with a mach 3, which clears pretty well.

Those electric multi blade jobbies don't seem to clog

As for a lube? - just normal soap for me

King of Shaves for me too (blue or green ones) - on its own, without any other foam/gel/etc - I've stopped getting any shaving rash since doing that.

Might sound daft but have you tried a good old fashioned shaving bowl and brush?

I've used oils, shaving foam/gel etc but nothing works for me as well as a bowl and brush.

Those new King of Shave razors are pretty good though.

I used to be a KoS adherent, I've started using olive oil instead and it's every bit as good.

I've tried pretty much everything, including old fashioned soap...thing is I don't shave daily so the longer stubble clogs more easily...KOS was mince also.

Oh well will try some shaving soap or gel...

I've never really got on with shaving oils - always used to clog and still result in skin irritation.

There are a few different gels / creams that work OK for me, but KoS gel (in a squirty tube) tends to be the best price/availability compromise.

I think it's a case of trying different things and finding something that works for you.

i started using soap (and brush) a month or so back. nothing fancy, just what they had in boots. better shave than any of the foams and gels i've tried recently (after noxzema menthol got hard to get).

If you're having that much trouble, is your technique right? Sounds silly I know but a mate of mine had a revelation when I told him to make sure that he never shaved 'against the grain' of his stubble and hadn't had shaving rash since. If that doesn't shave close enough then your blade's not sharp enough.

I bought a shaving soap dish and a handfull of blocks of glycerin soap (shaped to fit said bowl) from the soap factory shop in ashby (its name escapes me) for a fiver, kicks any other cream/foam ive tried into touch.

It also does CK anti-perperant sticks £20 in the shop, 3 for £5 with the label blacked out!

Have you tried old skool safety razors? No cloging problems there!

What olly said. GT85's got far to many solvents in to be useful for shaving, whereas Finishline wet lube clings to your face and wets the blades far better giving a really clean shave.
Some women do prefer the smell of GT85, so you might have to suffer the stinging and slightly rougher shave to keep em happy.

Haven't shaved for 6 months, but I was just using olive oil before that.
