I have a job near St Johns Town of Dalry on friday, and might be able to squeeze in a quick ride that afternoon. Which would be best best centre to head to, on my way back to Yorkshire? Kirroughtree, Dalbeattie, Mabie or Ae?

Mabie as it's on your way home. Kirry is the other way from where you want to be. Ae is a fair slog after a days work and a long drive home. Also mabie is a nice course for a quick run round

Thats true esp if you are coming down to Castle Douglas it is 40mins or so the wrong way. Mabie is best theen onto Dumfries bypass and head south.
The road across to Lockerbie is my option these days rather than the lumpy, bumby, whacky racer road to Annan/Gretna.
Just beware camera vans on flyovers 🙄

I would have met you at mabie and shown you some of the local stuff but my missus decided it would be fun to drive to Northampton on Friday to see her sister for the weekend
