last night i got some of the above forks which are the 2007 model he said they need a good service and some new seals i have had a quick search but carnt get any good advice just wounded if anyone can help
thanks luke
take them to bits, pour in new 7.5wt oil, slather the internals with grease, put back together.
simples.
yeah i had some 06's and they were easy enough to do - dead simple. just let the air out then dismantle and rebuild in the order you take em apart
I don't know that particular fork but I have taken a few different zocchis apart.
I'd be very suprised if they need grease in them- usually zocchis are open bath with a large oil volume.
Easy enough to change the oil usually which is all that is needed but I don't have a service guide for that fork
thanks alot do you no the best place to get the seals from?
why do you want to change the seals? Are they leaking? if not leave them alone
the guy who give me them said they need some
If they're 2007 model, they'll be the AM1 SL which has a TST cartridge damper that'll need bleeing, and an air spring assembly with PAR bottom out control.
You can get service docs from www.windwave.co.uk go to the tech info section/marzocchi tech/fork service docs.
You can download a PDF with the instructions and photos.
You might need to find the TST bleed instructions in a different section to get that set up right.
Here's the Exloded diagram you won't find there.
HTH.
Drop me a line about them, there is a cunning piece of string that fails in them, can be replaced though.
Hi Boobs
I have the 2007 AM1 SL - however I hear you can't get parts for them anymore? The travel has reduced to 120mm and my local bike shop can't help. What can you suggest please?
Cheers
Richard
Richard, I've got the same forks and had the same problem. You are right in that you can't get spares, see this thread for details. To summarise it, contact Windwave and speak to Shaun. He can effect a fix that will return your forks to their former glory.
