Sending fork for warranty should I remove crown race? Never done that before.

I would - if you get a new fork you'll be stuck without the race?

Yep, I once sent back a Reverb under warranty, they repaired it but then didn't send back the little bit of plastic that controls the cable when you compress, the top part of the saddle clamp, the 2 nuts that sit in that clamp or the 2 bolts to connect everything up!

Well I went with grease, hammer and flat head screwdriver came off in about 60 seconds. When I found out a replacement race was £20 I definitely wanted it off
