I'm in the process of selling some forks and have a guy in the Republic or Ireland interested. Could anyone please advise on the safest way to complete the transaction to ensure I don't get ripped off. Using a different banking system it seems unlikely I can get a transfer direct to my account. Any advice appreciated.
Regular Paypal and split the fees?
Is paypal genuinely safe though? I thought it possible for money to be recalled or to 'bounce' leaving me out of pocket and with no forks. I stand to be corrected though.
I'm in Eire myself and find it difficult to trade with people from UK. Luckily, I'm not too far from NI so can nip up there to post (but the bloody Post Office is shut today again, bloody Christmas Holidays!). The simple solution is he gifts you money to your Paypal or sends you a Postal Cheque in Sterling (available from any Ann Post here). You'll pay it into you bank account but it won't bounce as it's just like a postal order. I've done it paying for a frame a few months ago.
Beware of posting charges, they more than UK, check first.
Thanks.
Postal Cheque sounds like a good plan. Am i being paranoid about Paypal? Is there no way that if he gifts me the money it can later be recalled?
No, it can't.
