Good thinking. I often wonder with bikes and wheels or expensive items.

No way I'd spend more than £50 unless I could see them first.

Not asking for a grid reference just a rough idea, nearest town, first part of postcode.

If you really want to sell then it's good practice. Same as having pics ready and available because you know people are going to ask anyway.

And while we're at it why not put the frame size of frames or complete bikes in the description too.

I don't see why anyone would leave out their location from their profile - no need to put it into each advert then

I often wonder why people don't put pics up, especially when they're offering to email them to you, put the pics up, it's not difficult for gawds sake. Probably the same people who don't tell you roughly where they are in the country and how much they want.

maybe it should be in the rules, no adverts without location and pics.

Although people who ask for pics of something extraodinarily simple and/or new, come on, surely you dont want a pic of a disk mount addapter/inner cable/ brake pads etc?

I was thinking about the people who obviously have a digital camera and have the pics on their computer ready to email, it just makes me wonder why they wouldn't post a pic up in their ad, it seems obviously a basic thing to do to me.

If you're selling bits and bobs then fair enough, but there are plenty of people selling bikes and frames who don't post pics up, but have them ready to email, it just doesn't compute in my brain 🙂 .

I wouldn't put up pics - wasted stw bandwidth unless you link to flickr or somehwere and I imagine people might want to see something specific anyway - an overview pic wouldn't tell you much, would it ?

Also, if I was a dodgy geezer I'd take pics that "failed" to show any problems
