any fans ?

I bought the big cheap one off ebay and it's good but really quite wide at the front. My ossum thighs rub on it and wondering about trying a thinner one

Does anyone KNOW if the notionally narrower saddles also have narrower fronts ?

(I'm a bel-air chap normally on mtb, anyone care to guess what width SMP might correspond best to my arse?)

I use a carbon one on my road race bike, one of these:

Looks like a torture instrument (there's no padding) but stupidly light and surprisingly comfortable. No wider at the front than a SLR or similar.

No chafing here, but I think my thighs are pretty normal.

I had a cheap one like you describe that came on a complete tt bike - lasted 1 whole ride

The thin bits round the cut out dug in and the width of te nose was incredible

Te more expensive ones like that above have narrower noses

Yeh, I think you're right t_r - even the padded ones (never mind 2tyred's sex toy) def look narrower

I don't find the thin bits cut in but the width at the front is a bit too much. I do find it generally comfy though, hence thinking about a thinner one, but they're triple the price ๐Ÿ™

Mine came on a bike I bought second hand and I liked it straight away. Bought a TT bike last year and used it on that for a bit so decided I'd get another one so that I didn't need to keep swapping it across. Then I saw the price of a new one. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

The TT bike now has an SLR XP.

tried a cheap one (hybrid), liked the idea but too wide at the front. got another (lite 209) much better and kept it for a year. recently changed it for another one (evolution)....brilliant, narrower all over and flatter profile than the lite 209. expensive trial and error process though. i don't need one on my mtb's just the road bike.
