2004 Cannondale Jekyll for me.
One and only bike now I am taking the old Rockhopper to cycle:recycle in Hebden Bridge.
ps..don't begrudge anyone buying new bikes...I would love one.
The one I ride the most is I think now 21 years old. Good old Halfords.
My 'main' bike is a bitsa bike. Frame is 2009, forks are 2007, rear hub is 2010, front one is 1994, one brake is 2006, one is 2008... 😀
I have an 06 Enduro which is my main bike and a 97 Zaskar. The Zaskar is on the way out and a new BFe frame on the way in. I suspect the BFe might become my main bike as on paper it is probably more suitable for most of my riding. Can't wait.
Mines new built, but with bits circa 2004/2005 but it has all the mod cons like fully sprung front forks and hydromonolical dics brakes.
Dialled PA frame bought just over 3 years ago, although that replaced another PA frame and bits transferred over. Rest of it has stuff that is 1-8 years old.
only one bike, 2006 Fisher Ziggurat...
edit to add - though I do have a hankering for something a touch slacker and longer travel on the front - like a Dialled Prince Albert - very tempted to seek management approval to put a deposit on the new production run.... 😛
2011 Whyte 805 my first MTB
1999 Mount Vision. More than adequate. Mind you, plenty of upgrades (130mm revalations, 203/185 discs, etc)
2004 Marin wolf ridge first full suss I've ever owned love every min of riding it!!!!!
2000 Sc Superlight.... It's too fab to let go.
Which is not very Buddhist.
2002 Stumpy FSR and a 2002 Stumpy Hardtail. Both great bikes and they've still got years left in them. Both are a bit triggers broom type bikes though.

jjjjeeeeeeesssssssshhhhhhhh
it worked...first ever pic uploaded!!!!
2001 Giant TCR, which I bought in Rouen, France.
Ground in 30 miles this moring, with a storm coming in from the wash.
Rain, lots of rain, with, at times, Hail !.
Bring It !.
I knocked in a 30 mile ride, after which, my feet felt like blocks of ice.
I could barely walk through my front door.
I Lurrvvvvvv cycling.
😀
2007 Orange P7 is my main MTB.
My play bike is a Planet-X Jack Flash from 2003 ish I think.
however the bike I ride most is a 3 month old Orbea road bike.
2007 Van Nicholas Yukon road bike.
My Brodie Holeshot was stolen 🙁
2007 Giant france with 2010 Fox Floats.
My ht is two years old and looking tatty. Frame scratched and rubbed to hell wonky rims worn forks etc. I did buy a hub geared steel road bike last year.
Main bike is twelve years old. Play bike is eleven in two months...
2003 Titus Switchblade. Mostly newish bits on it though - Thors, Crest, Middleburns, XO etc
2001 cannondale jekyll 1000 lefty my only bike would love a new one put never seem to have the cash and i love this bike got it in 2003 longest iv ever oned one
2005 tiggers broom
Giant ocr frame and fork done more miles than i care to think of - thought about changing it but its just not going to happen
2001 Kona Stinky. It just works.
'Might' be in the market this year for a new bike...something 4-5 inches, fun (not 'serious and low') on the downs and more pedally than the Stinky on the ups...might take some time!
1994. May be getting a new bike this year though...
"Main" bike is a 2008 Solid Acer (Don't think they make it anymore).
But lately I've spent more time riding my 2005 Kona Stab and my SS - 1997 Fire Mountain.
Obviously I don't have a new bike every year or for that matter new bikes generally (mostly used stuff for me)... I reckon my little collection has probably cost me a fair bit less than some people would happily spend on just the one bike, and between them cover a fair few more bases than just one ever could.
But the trade off is of course that I don't get to ride the latest, lightest, poshest new bikes which ,if I'm honest, would be nice but I can live with that...
I don't think you can begrudge those who can afford it a nice expensive new bike now and then...
edit
I had typed up the ages and details of my bikes and then thought that was maybe a daft thing to stick on the internet, so I took it off....am I paranoid ? serious question btw.
2011 Five Pro. Had last bike since 1999, Schwinn Moab 3.
It depends on what you'd define "main bike". My bike for all occasions is my 04 Enduro, still going strong after all these years. It's not overtly retro, with SLX cranks, XT nine speed gears, Revelations etc.
My more recent bikes are a 2009 Wolf Ridge and a 2011 Orange Pure 7 frame which I've just finished.
My mtb is a 2003 bullit. I also have a trailstar from about the same year. Road bike gets the most use though and it's a 2011.
2005 FSR Stumpjumper with hardly any original bits left on it.
How do you define 'main bike'.
Could you please be more specific,
good to see others riding oldies around!
main bike??....as in the one you turn to to go for a ride. not duty specific.
if your asking that, I guess you have a gaggle of bikes to choose from.
...am I paranoid ?
No. Many folk ignorantly leave a torrent of info on forums and the like that creates a trail right to their front door/shed/garage.
Doesn't take a genius to piece it all together if you've been careless with the personal stuff...
The bike I ride the most is my genesis day-one. That's less than a year old.
My Chameleon must be 7 years old now. Awesome, awesome bike.
....am I paranoid ?
Depends how big your dog is
I raced trans provance last year on an 11 year old bike. I regurly ride a 1994 bike but my main first choice is 2009 ti hardtail for the UK.
A few old pics:
My Kona, circa 2003ish before I revamped it.
Early 2006, just after rebuild but pre-Fox.
My old play bike. Built around a Trek 7000 (I think) frame that a mate was skipping. I had it stove enamelled black and built it up with a full Deore groupset, an RST 281 triple clamp fork, Magura HS33 brakes, Mavic 517 rims, Titec finishing kit and DMR V8 pedals. Everything bar the frame was brand new but bought in sales, I think the whole bike only cost around £500 to put together.
Frame and wheels (inc. brakes) are nearly 3.
I'm a serial tinkerer, so everything else has been replaced at least 2 or 3 times. First build and current build -
May well become classic Trigger's Broom this year if I get a BFe and bigger forks as I (half) plan to.
slainte 😆 rob
Got the frame for Christmas 2007.
1st test ride of it all built up was Feb 3rd, 2008.
So pretty much exactly 4yrs old. Doesn't seem that long.
My main bike is a 2005 Giant NRS,bought new in 2007. I also have a 2003 Hardrock, but I hardly use it these days.My other mtb is a 2005 Enduro but that's a dust collector,I think it's over biked for stuff that I do over here but great for the Alps.
Roadbike's a 2010 Allez & probably gets more use than the NRS.
2008 Stiffee with a mish mash of components. 2008 pro2s on 819, 2009 XTR, 2011 XT brakes
2006 Turner RFX, with 2011 Pro2 Evos on stans arch, 2009 XTR, 2009 SLX, Saint M810 brakes.
Got a 99 Allez Comp and a 2010 Felt F3 too.
Oh and an 89 SS Emmelle Dolomite.
Six years. It's a first model kuota kharma on neutron wheels with campag chorus carbon groupset. My fun bike, on one 456 is 10 months old. Love both of them :0)
all built from second-hand bits I believe the frame is late 90s. Most of the rest of it is 5+ years old
Last year i replaced my 2001 nrs/xtc team with a 2006 yeti asr sl. Bits on it are a bit newer: 2009 fork, 2008 brakes. But that is my 'flash' bike!
Posh-ish frames and bikes are well expensive: If I broke up all four of my bikes and sold every last part on the classifieds here, I still couldn't afford the rrp on the 2012 equivalent my frame.: yes, just the frame -then I'd have to buy the rest of a bike to go on it.
my new bike.. 8)

new.. but 21 years old..!
2005 SX Trail with Sherman forks, but with some newer bits on it (X9 10 speed mech and shifter).
I tend to buy a lot of stuff second hand. I've been riding since '96 and have only had five brand new bikes / frames in that time.
2007 Soul - all I've replaced from the original build is rims, tyres, drivetrain, saddle, seatpost, headset...er...
2001 Superlight, no intention of replacing it till it snaps.
How old is my bike? Which bit?....
Main bike 2009 (Lapierre Zesty)
Play bike 1997 (DMR Trailstar)
BMX 2011 (FIT Brian Foster)
The bike I ride most (currently) is a 12 year old bottom-of-the-range Trek road bike. My "posh" bike is a 4 or 5 year old Whyte 46. My other bike is a 14 month old Ragley made out of a combination of new and old parts. If I could only keep one it would be the Ragley, but if I had to get rid of one it would also be the Ragley. Not sure, therefore, which is my "main" bike.
2006 Prophet 2006
2007 Superlight 2007
3rd gen Inbred no idea of it's age, bought 2nd hand and I've owned it 4/5 or more years?
Only bike I've ever bought new is my 2004 Gemini
Nothing new appeals to me & all of the above (FS'ers) are so much fun I can't see any point in replacing them.
What I would class as my main bike was made at the end of 2002. Having said that, my commuter does more miles, that is a 2005 bike.
relliott6879 - who welded/brazed the disc tabs on to your fire mountain for you? And how much was it? out of interest like...
Main ride is a 1996 Bontrager Privateer. Lovely steel frame that rides so nicely I don't know what I'd replace it with.
