Like a complete clown I took my lovely Adidas Evil Eye Varios out mountain biking last night, after it had rained, and invariably scratched them. Knew I should have kept them for best. I believe the photochromic element is throughout the polycarbonate rather than a coating, is there any way of getting the worst of the scratches out and not damage them further, old tricks like non-abrasive toothpaste etc? Or will I have to live with looking around the badges of my muppetry whilst crying sad tears of regret? At least they were the bargain ones from TK Maxx....
What size/model where they?
I bought some of the tk bargain ones too on the hope I could get them reglazed with prescription 'cos they're a decent frame too.
Didn't have any luck ( ciliary blue said no can do evil eyes) so I think they're still in the house somewhere. Will look later.
They're the half rim Pro size large. Drop me a pm, might be interested in the full frame too
Scratched camera and telescope lenses can be “repaired” by colouring in the scratch with a black marker pen, wiping off the excess before it dries. Maybe worth a try?
Sounds daft but it’s the reflections and refractions you see with a scratch, which the black ink blocks.
