MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I know it's not Friday but it'll probably take until then to get this into a presentable, rideable state . . .
Been getting a bit disillusioned of late with my short-term test fetish, spending loads of cash just to lose mega-bucks a month or so down the line when I fancy trying something else, so after a month playing away on 20" wheels I'm back with a plan to rescue all those tiny old unloved full squishers out there 8)

Here . . . we . . . go . . . 😛
Am I correct in thinking you have an Absolut sx?
If so, what is your opinion of it?
I'm strongly considering one but would have to give up my Trance x to do it.
I have had a few Absolut SXs - sold my last one (which was a warranty replacement) just after Christmas. Lovely little bikes but very short in the toptube so try one first if you have the chance. Not sure about the longer version but the actual toptube measurement on the short is just 20". If I'd hung onto mine I'd have loved to try it with a coil shock, although with the concentric bb pivot it may have been a bit too 'bobby'. I found it climbed fine with the Fox Float - a bit of bob in the lowest couple of gears but nothing to worry about - just wished it had been a bit more responsive on smaller bumps.
cheers for that
I'd be going for the long frame and running it with an alfine so gear bob should be minimal
Challenge fail 😳 😥 .
Frame was listed as having an extremely small hairline crack in the rocker arm - not a major problem I thought as I'm a lightweight mincer. Fired a few emails off to Kona anyway to discover that replacements are still available, so figured I'd build it up to ride until funds allowed a rocker replacement.
Pretty filthy when it arrived but hey it's just dirt right . . .
. . . sadly, a thorough scrubbing has revealed cracks in both rocker arms (one considerably more than a hairline, which can be felt with a finger), a crack through the driveside chainstay and . . . yeah, you've guessed . . . nice little hairline crack behild the head tube. No DH for me this weekend. Gutted! 😥 😥 😥
