[Closed] Scottish Cycling deleted my comments - am I out of order?
So Scottish Cycling put a little 'Scottish cycling highlights' video up, that included all sorts of competition images, recreation, kids etc. Meant as a 'the great year on bikes' it seems.
But dominated by skinny tyres and lycra, on track and road. With a few pics of mountain bikers here and there and cute ickle kids off road.
But no mention of DH world cup, Enduro races, tweedlove and lots of Scots doing well in said comps (etc), no images of Cathkin at Commonwealth games XC etc.
I left a message suggesting this was an omission, perhaps SC not representing the 'broad church' that is cycling.
Now it has been deleted.
Is it me? ๐
(Me me me, before anyone else suggests it;) )
I'd say that was a bit crap. Although I'm not surprised. Do you have a link to the video? Just in case anyone else might want to review and comment ๐
bit crap. Don't you have a history of having posts deleted? :/
[ when you next in Elgin Matt? ]
Posts deleted, moi? ๐ ๐
kcal - December 8th and Feb 12th...twas wet on Sunday...grumble grumble.
Maybe the cycling elite should rename their club Scottish road cycling !
The very first bit of their own blummin' video says they're the "govering body"... it doesn't really fill you with confidence...
oh, sorry Matt - got mixed up with another forum member ๐ณ -- apologies..
Callum
Aye, but I was there from Friday to Tuesday this week...funny that...
OP you know what to do.
Petrol, matches...
Best bit is I am on Scottish Cycling UKCC L2 Coaching assessment tomorrow - I may have access to shoes.... ๐
take some bombers and show them how we treat those who disrespect us
In terms of what Scottish Cycling is involved in, I thought it was a fairly good representation. They don't support the UCI DH World Cup, that I'm aware of, nor do they contribute to the Tweedlove or Enduro series, so I wouldn't expect them to try to claim any gains or kudos from those areas.
Once you'd got past the starting section, devoted to the Commonwealth Games medal winners (which would have included any XC success, if there had been any), then it was fairly broadly spread amongst all the disciplines.
Yes, yes that's the best bit because L2 assessors are generally clueless about cycling ๐ฏ
Good luck!
Fair point GavinB, I had not thought that Scottish cycling were not involved in lots of cycling in scotland. ๐
Don't know about deleted comments, but I'd be happy if the twonk in the official Scottish Cycling estate car stopped parking on double yellow lines next to junctions here in Ballater.
I thought the balance was ok, apart from it being too Scottish
It's them.
Scottish Cycling once pulled their entire forum after I asked what they were doing to support MTBing considering in mind that a very large proportion of their membership at the time were made up of MTB coaches.
notlocal - do you have photos of the vehicle?
I once overheard a discussion in the local cafe between SC coaches boasting about how many vehicles they'd written off.
Would be nice to start nailing them for putting their own membership at risk.
Crispin, no photos, but it's a VW Passat or Golf estate. It's parked on doubles on several occasions in Ballater. You'd think a cyclist would value keeping sightlines out of junctions clear.
Scottish Cycling knock about in a VW Passat usually. I've seen that vehicle around quite a lot, always courteously driven in my experience.
Aye, it's parking the driver struggles with ๐
If N Scotland, I have an idea who that might be... as you say either Golf or I think Passat estate.
I saw quite a few mountain bikes in there - have they changed it since you had a moan ? And Grant Ferguson on a WC XC podium right near the start.
SC were always pretty supportive of the races we put on at Innerleithen - gave us some direct sponsorship for iXS Cup 2012 for example, and provided Commissaires (and paid their expenses for SES this year) for our Enduro rounds, and every other race we have ever run, for that matter.
I think you are being very harsh and seeing what you want to see.
I think SC do support the Fort Bill World Cup, their banners are up on the course, and I always seem to run into the boss Craig up there - although it is usually in the queue for the bar !
