The original scales (circa 2006) came with a 80mm fork. In the last few years the fork was uped to 100mm. Does anyone know if there was a geometry change in the frame as well?

Yes slight geometry change from 05 Scale to 2012 Scale. 1 deg slacker, a tiny bit longer. Difference in fork length is just over 20mm.

I thought Scott may have felt the original scale was 'under forked' in the first place and just decided to up the fork lenght without changing the frame.

My original 80mm fork need binning... putting a 100mm fork on my 05/06 scale probably wouldn't work then. Bugger.

Thanks

It will be prefectly fine with a 100mm fork, i run one on my 1996 stumpjumper and that feels great.
