Hi all,

I'm a 5'7" female and looking at getting a Scott Genius, either normal of Contessa version.
I've tried to find the differences between the Contessa versions and the normal Genius and apart from handlebars, a female saddle and the suspension tuned for a lighter weight, I am struggling to find any other differences.

Does anyone know if there any frame/geometry differences with the Contessa vs the normal?

Is there much benefit to a female getting a Contessa over normal?

Thanks in advance..

Looking at the spec sheets of the 710 the geometry looks to be the same. Contessa has a narrower bar. 'Gents' bike has a better brakeset and fork damper. I didn't check prices. Are you able to rest ride both? Will your lbs be flexible in terms of switching stuff like bars and saddle to your preferences? Suspension tuning for lighter weight is by the by if you ride particularly hard. Not meaning to sound fatuous, but does colour come into the consideration?

No geo difference with any carbon front triangles. Alloy contessas do have female geo.
I/my wife really like the contessa decals.
Id also consider the 2017 spark plus contessa, smaller/lighter riders really don't need the genius' extra travel unless you enduro'ing ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks, no I'm not fussed about the colour, just as long as its not all pink! I'd be willing to stick different bars and saddle on whatever version I end up getting, so not too bothered about which of those it comes with either. I'd like a carbon frame, with a decent groupset (XT/XTR or Sram eqivalent), and good brakeset.
Ideally I'd like to test ride them both, and the Sparks as well, but short of waiting until a demo event next spring/summer I cant find any locally. I've also been struggling to find a Spark in small size, there seems to be far more small Genuis' out there!
