been trying to source some more 'man proof' 29r rims.
i have a pair of kris holm rims at the mo, these are proper downhill strong rims, very wide and stable. £29.99

so i thought i would try some salsa gordo's after various guys telling me how good, wide, strong they are. £79.99 WTF. how can a rim be more than twice the price of a serious piece of kit like the Holm rims.

****ing rip off imho.
Holms are now ordered.

There is a whole thread on MTBR regarding why Gordos cost what they do. Having read the amount of work that's gone into them and the small numbers they are selling in (and were expected to) the price doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. They're not forcing you to buy them, after all

TBH if you look at the price of the Edge carbon rims the Gordo's are a steal....

Did you see the Twenty Nine Inches “product of 08” review?

i saw the reveiws.....
my kris holm rims are 38mm wide, same as the gordos.
they are less than half the price.
they cope with a man doing 20ft drops on a unicycle.
they come from the u.s same as the salsa's.
so to me the gordo's are a expensive option. 😀

I am sure you have considered the option, but being less of a man would clearly save you a lot of money. 🙂
