Seriously looking at one of these. Not sure whether to go for a large or medium. Usually ride a 56cm rode bike and a 17.5-18" mtb (not at the same time). Am thinking the large but owner comments would be appreciated. If anyone is selling one give me a shout. No dealres anywhere near me so can't try before I buy so to speak.

Not much help to you here seeing as mine is an XXl version but they're great bikes. There is a sizing guide for the Fargo on the Salsa site as it's a bit quirky sizing wise. It may be under the archive models bit as it was done at the time of the older model that i have (not the newer suspension corrected model).

If you search the forum you'll probably find Chipps one which should give you a guide as he's probably on a medium or large.

Thanks, looks like a medium is the best bet.

Hi there,
I'm riding a 20" large Fargo MK 2, I'm 6'2" and would say its about perfect.

I'd normally ride a road bike between 57/60cms and a 20/21" mountain bike so I'd suggest a medium would be best suited.

Measure and compare the top and seat tube measurements of you current bike which fits you and compare those with that of the Fargo.

Good luck!

Steve

Thanks, looks like a medium as the Eff TT is very similar, 5mm difference. Does Charlie the Bike Monger do price match, anyone know?

I'm 5'11 with a 33 inch inside leg and settled on a medium, there's quite a bit of seatpost showing but that gives me plenty of space for a dry bag under the saddle, reach is spot on. I could almost certainly have been comfortable on a large though, maybe with a shorter stem.

Got mine from Charlie, I didn't haggle as he'd been supportive and patient as I pissed about for a year 🙂

Thanks Nick, I'm just under 5'11" with a 32 inside leg (not usually this forward with blokes I don't know 🙂 ) so that again points towards a medium.

I'd say go for a medium too. I'm your size and I've posted on your classifieds ad (mine's a large). I wish I'd bought the medium, which I why I'm selling mine.

Thanks all. Am looking for a bike that will do some bivvy / camping and touring nights away but also see me through the winter of riding the back roads to the local woods over the hills, rounds the woods and home. Was toying with a Genesis Fortitude Adventure but am drawn more to the Fargo.
