So it arrived last night!

Yes, I know the chain is too long - I'm fitting 40/28 rings later on today so will trim it then.

The seatpost also looks waaay high in the pics - it looks a lot less stupid in reality. It is the right size...

One of only 4 in the world right now - they won't be available for a while longer.

Better pics later.

It's hard to see but I am sure it's very nice. Salsa must be one of the oldest surviving niche American brands. IIRC didn't Brant Richards ride an A La Carte with Pace straight blade 531 forks or was it Jason McRoy? I distinctly remember a test with the Salsa and I think a Fat Chance in MBUK.

BTW that is a loooooong seat post. How much have you got in the frame?

I think I've ridden one, but Jason raced one. I had a Yo Eddy (for a bit).

Brant thinking about it the review I saw was between the Salsa and Fat Chance Wicked. I remember being in the school library in Sixth Form reading it when I should have been doing my history assignment; funny the details you remember. This would have been 1990; didn't the Yo Eddy come a few years later (in which case it was just you doing a test not owning the bike)?

I also remember there being a small stuffed toy strapped to the front of the bike, an Etto helmet being worn and a heck of a lot of desire and envy being felt! Oh an didn't you call yourself Zak Tempest?

That's it! Thanks Matthew, suddenly that October day in the sixth form library seems much less hazy!
