Morning,

The last time i rode my bike (4 weeks ago), i was carrying my it over a knee deep sludge pit on the field just before The Beast. Of course, i slipped and plunged my front wheel over half way into prime peak paste. My wheel was struggling to spin and it sounded as if someone was rubbing sand paper across my disc. With no access to any water i had to wait till i got down to the resevoir to wash my bike, for these 5 minutes, my brake was struggling to function and i could see the pads had worn down considerably.

Now, after its been washed the bite point has altered on my front brake. First, i thought that the sludge being in there would have pushed the pads further into the caliper, thus altering the bite point. But shouldn't this have automatically rectified itself once clean?

Is it just simply a case of replacing the pads (in the post) and everything will return to normal?

They should self adjust - not doing so means likely a stuck piston.
