Love conti tyres, use them non UST
Mountain King 29ers on Flow rims.
No problems.
Tried it with speedking supersonics,Sidewalls were so thin the stans was bleeding through them.Took 2 days and then leaked slowly.
Ridden Mountain kings 2.2 and 2.4 Protections non-UST ghetto tubeless and now 2.2 non-UST Rubber Queens ghetto on the front and on a Flow rim and yellow tape on the rear. Work great, roll and grip really well :).
In this months Mountain Bike mag (the yank one) a spokesman for Conti said that they are all for people running their tyres with sealant and it doesn't invalidate the warranty.
2.2 Race King Supersonics (Black Chilli ones) on 355's with yellow tape and sealant. They did take a while to get sealed due to the porous sidewalls but were well worth the effort, cracking tyres.
Race kings here on stans, had to leave them on each side for about 6 hrs a piece to stop the sidewalls leaking, then topped up sealant but they were great after that.
Cheers all, think I'll go with the Protections then - 100g a tyre lighter than the USTs (for Mtn King 2.2s) 🙂 Supersonics might be a step too far for this bike.
Standard Speedkings sealed without any sealant and stayed up for about 30 mins. Once sealant was added I had no problems until the tread wore out!!
Supersonic versions do have porous sidewalls but with lots of side to side waggling do seal and are really light. Loads more grip from the black chilli compound plus less weight. Again rode until the tread ran out.
Yes also run standard speed kings ghetto'd, also ran a race king back in the 'summer'. No problems to note.
