Some advice please?! I want to use a cheap Sora or Tiagra short cage rear mech with my Shimano 9 speed cassette (11/34) and shifter with a single 30t chainring. Apart from perhaps needing to run the b tension screw the other way round or finding a slightly longer one, there isn't any reason why this won't work is there?

it didn't work when I tried it a few years ago..32 was max it would stretch to.the newer ones are rated to 30t instead of 27t so it would probl. work.pretty noisy tho.

Price really rp. Less than £20 for a short cage road compared with over twice as much for a Zee.
