Hi all, looking to replace my very grippy but somewhat draggy High Roller UST 2.35 with something a bit easier on the legs.
Had NN before and hated them, sick of front tyre washing out all the time.
Been looking at the 2.2 Rubber Queens from Action Sports DE. I have UST rims but from reading bits on here, quite a few of you are using just tubeless ready tyres with sealant rather than UST.
So, if anyone has bought these are they
Handmade in Germany ones
Black Chili
Tubeless Ready
Its these ones:

The UST ones are UST. The non-UST ones are non-UST. I don't get what all this "tubeless ready" nonsense is about, a tyre is either tubeless or not, surely.
They keep changing it, so I'm not sure if the 2.2s are black chilli. Get the UST ones if you want to run them tubeless, they're black chilli, and brilliant.
The 2.2 Black Chilli UST ones are product code 0100423. Unless it specially states this I wouldn't risk ordering them personally (if that's what you want).

Looking at your link I would say they are NOT black chilli. The black chilli ones are about £50 in the UK so would expect them to be around EUR60.
I just bought the 2.2 Black Chilli thinking that this combination meant it was also UST, but I was wrong. I only discovered this when trying to inflate them tubeless and failed miserably. You can thus get the 2.2 with black chilli rubber in both UST and non UST (and incidentally also not 'tubeless ready' and I echo RealMan's comments - this tubeless ready malarky is nonsense).
Interestingly the 2.2 Black Chilli non-UST tyres come up quite a bit smaller than the 2.2 UST ones. I have no idea why, but it's quite noticeable. Where the 2.2 non-UST ones look like a true 2.2, the UST versions look more like a 2.35. Also as you would expect the non-UST ones are quite a bit lighter, indeed with a lightish tube, they are only about the same weight as the UST version and lighter still than an equivalent Maxxis UST tyre.
I've used the 2.2 Rubber Queen UST and the 2.2 Rubber Queen BC.
The non UST one DOES work tubeless (with sealant). It doesn't seal quite as well as the UST (needs pumping up every 4-5 days) but its about 350g lighter.
Hope this helps.
I echo mchlptcher's comments - I have a non UST black chilli tyre working fine as tubeless - it is more faff to get it to seal but it is working just fine now that it has.
I also have 2 x UST 2.2 (not black chill) going spare... £50 posted for the pair anyone?
The non UST one DOES work tubeless (with sealant).
That's interesting; did you use a compressor or CO2 cannister to inflate?
I think most non-UST tyres can be run tubeless with sealant but getting them up can be tricky.
It is a bit of a faff.
Pumped it up with an inner tube first to pop the bead on. Deflated and popped off just one side of the bead to remove the tube. Poured some sealant in then inflated with a track pump.
I'm sure theres other ways to do it, but thats always worked for me.
I was running 2.2 non-UST Black chili front and rear tubeless with Stans until a week ago when some barbed wire on the trail shredded the sidewall of the rear tyre.
It was almost new and I was gutted and have had to put an Advantage back on the rear.
As above the non-UST 2.2 Black Chili goes up fine with some Stans fluid. Loses a little air and needs topping up a couple of times a week.
THanks for all the replies guys - I'm edging toward the non-UST as 350g per wheel cant be sniffed at - I've always managed to get awkward tyres seated eventually, the only thing bothering me is topping up 'a couple' of times per week
Apparently the non UST RQ's when new have some sort of moulding powder/residue on them which inhibits the sealant to an extent. If you give them a rub down with isoprpyl alcohol (i think) it clears this up a lot. Have mine running tubeless with Stan's. Took a while & a fair bit of fluid to get them fully sealed. Now they're sealed they run perfectly though. I'd say I have to check/pump up the air level in them maybe once a fortnight.
