Is the latter worth the extra over the former?
Both 140mm, to go on a Giant Trance 27.5, and to replace some Fox 32 Evo CTDs
I just replaced 120mm Rebas with 140mm Rev rct3s. They are so much plusher and feel like they're actually thinking about it rather than just being a simple air chamber. That's not meant to sound ****y but to answr your question, I'd say if you actually want a smooth ride then yes, you get what you pay for.
Almost certainly yes unless the difference is really really huge (I say this as someone who owns a Sektor with Rev dampers inside).
How much extra is it?
Do you ride rough terrain?
I've got a Rev RCT3 on my HT and it does the job nicely, but if I were a richer man I'd still upgrade to a Pike.
The price difference is approx. £100, and yes I do ride rough terrain.
The Pike is about £100 more than the Rev.
Yes, worth it if you can afford it etc - it's a much-improved spring & damper.
Worth £100 extra IMO, but I'd still try to stretch to a Pike.
I bought some revelation rl for my trance mikey.
Hell of a difference.
150mm version from all tricks.
the one with a dual flow rebound damper is the one to go for, the older rebound damper fork packed up on repeted big hits.
