I've recently started making use again of my Alfine 11.hub with its notoriously finicky gear changes. I'm still getting the occasional skip so looking to get the best cable available. Stuff like Yokozuna only seems to be available as kits. I'm just after one full length outer. Experiences?

Mine works fine with SP41, the normal Shimano stuff, you can get that pretty much everywhere. All proper gear outer should be compressionless really, all that means is the metal strands are linear, not coiled like brake outer, so they don't squish.

I was hoping to find something slightly more slick. I'm using sp41 now. If I shift from 1 to 6 and line the marks, then shift from 11 to 6, they're out slightly, and vice versa. The tolerances seem to be way too tight (especially compared to the faultless rohloff on my other bike)

I really rate these .

I know ,how much! etc ,etc, but I have used them for a while now and they have been great.
You get better cable lines and(I think) they look good. They also don't tarnish like Nokons.

Keep your SP41 and use a Dura Ace Polymer coated inner cable.

Your LBS can order it alone without postage charge with part no 63Z 9895.

They're £16.99 each, but will do the trick.

Thanks guys, some food for thought there. Don't mind spending a bit if is going to be reliable and last.

Sillyoldman has it right. This is what I had to do with mine. Still not perfect, but at least better. Going Di2 proved the only way to fix it.
