I have a pair of coil PM recons with ****ed stanchions, and a good older IS air set with no internals...
Can I make a decent set out of this?
I'd have thought everything would swap over fine. Think you can even use Tora parts (although stand to be corrected).
The coil will maybe run in the air stanchions, but air internals will be unlikely to work in the previously coil stanchions as there will be scratches on the inside of the stanchions. I have swapped about a bit with RS forks - currently running a Rev Dual Position Air spring in a pair of old Pikes, spring is in the damping leg too, for casting thickness reasons at the base of the leg. So far, no issues.
Yep air csu 'should' take the coil internals fine, on phone so can't double check drawings, what year?
