My brother called me today and said he can't get his front wheel off his bike, I have a quick looked night and managed to get the axle out but it was a big struggle, the fork is an old pike race, I'm not familiar with them but I think the axle is a maxle light? When you operate the qr leaver both ends of the axle seem to expand, seems one end is still expanded slightly as you can't push it through the wheel. Is this a common thing? Need to have another look to see if there is any sort of adjustment

If it has a wedge at both ends then it adjusts like a normal qr. Just loosen/tighten the nut at the opposite end to the lever. Later ones have an Allen screw under the lever. Normaly they get stuck if they haven't been greased.
