Looking for a ride out of Llanwrtyd Wells next weekend. Probably just need one ride with that as a base and was thinking of the Doethie Valley.
However, the route i've ridden before turns it into a 55km/1900m ascent epic but we've a very mixed group and it's going to be wet - is there a way of making the ride shorter whilst still being based in Llanwrtyd?
drive to the dam and and ride from there it will certainly make it a lot shorter, but still a good ride

Doethie will be sooooo wet but it'll still be great.
+1 for parking at Lynn Briane dam although the climb up from the chapel was completely washed away in the autumn. Must be much worse now surely?!
Might just find myself there this weekend also i reckon..........
Any other suggestions for a ride from there? Is there anything that stands up well under this sort of weather?
I think we'll ride the Gap on the way up and maybe spend a day at Afan but would prefer to do something local.
