Doing 'The Gap' on Sunday. Any recommendations for a quick/short warm up route for Saturday accessible from the Talybont/Brecon area?
Thanks
Do the first half of the gap and back along the road past the res?
There's the black mountain forest just south a little, perhaps a pootle along some fireroads in there.
Sorry that's all I've got.
the forest is called mynydd du forest, this is route I was on about.

I've heard from several people that this route is really tough so perhaps for something more gentler, just park at the bottom of the forest and ride up as much as you want.
Google "Three Rivers Ride" which is on the other side of the valley. Make yourself a route to include that. I think I did it southbound and it was pretty good fun - better when dry, obviously. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=311432&y=226010&z=120&sv=311432,226010&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=715&ax=311432&ay=226010&lm=0
Half a day at BPW, just 25 mins drive away.
Sarn Helen from Forest Lodge and then back down the Rhiw to Heol Senni and back up the road to Forest Lodge.
I can give you a really nice gpx route around Mynydd Llangorse which you can ride from Talybont As long or short as you want.
Hmmm, may be a bit busy around Llangorse. But. This may also be an option for you if you're so inclined

Thanks!
We went round the lake on the Saturday, up the road by the waterfalls (what a climb!) then down an immense downhill forest roadway to bring us back to the dam with many smiles per mile. Sunday did the Gap, stopping at the tea rooms for endless cups of tea (free refills!)
