Your tips for removal please? Preferably without destroying the mech..

Just removed a rack from the wife's bike. Drilled the head of the bolt (done this loads of times before), drilled a pilot hole with a 2mm drill without snapping the bit and removed using a screw extractor. First time I've ever been successful. Key seems to be using new drill bits with frequent cooling. And luck.
