"rough ride" not an apt description of the event. ๐Ÿ˜

Yep, I'll be doing it with a couple of mates.
Missed last year (stayed in bed based on weather forecast) and previous year (front mech broke riding up to start) but done all the others. It's a nice day out. Please God sort out the weather 8)

But it's nearly as much fun as the Dyfi(but with better views) so who cares..............

I'm in for the first time, no idea what to expect...and info welcome!

One question: The water stops...will they be supplying enough water to refill bottles/bladders or is it just cups on the way past?

You missed last year Stu, the ride may not be rough (ooer missus) but the conditions certainly were ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

jclay - plentiful water at water stops to fill bottles / bladders plus they are well placed and more freqent than some rides of similar length. Info? It's open country with little shelter; waterproofs and/or suncream IMO pretty essential (depending on weather conditions) unless you're a racing snake and around the longer route in a couple of hours 8)

Oh, I'm in for this year, see you all there...

sadly wont be doing it this this year, which is a shame coz itsa great even, not the roughest of rides but some steep hills and will be glorious views this weekend

water stops give you plenty of H20 iirc

Cheers psling, I'm certainly no racing snake so suncream aplenty it is! Unanimous praise for an event is rare, so sounds like I'm in for a treat on Sunday ๐Ÿ˜€

The rough ride is always a great event.

Well organised, good route and you get plenty for your money.

But it's nearly as much fun as the Dyfi

Are you serious?

Where's the rocky descents, where's the cheerleaders, where's the beertent, where's the orange 5 riders with excessive body armour on mincing about?

Actualy scratch the last question as they're everywhere. ๐Ÿ˜†

I got around the long route...if I was the fastest you are all crap! That was my biggest ever day out though, so really pleased to have finished. Some of the climbs though, utterly ridonculous!

Those climbs are always fun! The descents were ace though - if you could see through the dust of anyone in front!

Yep,done 7 Dyfi's & 3 Rough Rides,& still stand by that comment....
If it was exactly the same it would be boring, didn't see any body armour & the beer tent was stocked with decent beer - "Wife Beater"....

But yeah another cracking Rough Ride....... 8)

Yea BIG improvement on the weather this year 8)

[IMG] [/IMG]

Well done to Jerry and his team for once again organising a great event! Couple of suggestions for next year 1] Co-incide the event with the Annual Kington Wheelbarrow race again and 2] NEVER serve up half cooked spuds and cabbage with baked beans everagain! Sorry but it was truly awful!

I gave the beans a miss but thought the other stuff was really tasty!

Loved it again this year. Had to go short course due to family time pressure and felt short changed.
I see the results are up and it looks like I scored 2nd in my (old gits) age group. Chuffed.

How do you work it out, as both courses lumped together?

Disappointingly it seems there are only photos from one camera for me and my friend (070/346). Was looking for ward to some of the others including the water splash and top of the hill ๐Ÿ™
