[Closed] ROCO on a 2006 Enduro

I've got a 2006 S-works Enduro with the DHX 5.0 Air on it. I've never been that impressed with the shock despite having some work done on it, something fancy to do with shim stacks and detuning the ProPedal. The work did improve it but I'd still prefer a coil on it.

I know plenty of people have fitted a DHX 5.0 coil on these frames but has anyone tried a Marz ROCO? I've seen one 2nd hand for a good price and the right size (8.75 x 2.75). Any problems with the piggy back fouling the frame?

Perhaps posting at a better time of day when more people are awake would help....

Try fitting a small air can on the DHX in my experience that is why the DHX feels crap. I dont think the air can is much more than £30.

I think a 8.75x2.75 will only work on large frames but Im not sure.

The DHX air does work a bit better with a custom tune and smaller air can or with the extra volume sleeve on the outside of the main can filled with grease. However a coil with generally perform better.
I think the size is a 8.75" X 2.5" refering to the Fox fitment sheet.
The main issue with these is that with the DHX shocks was that they were nitrogen charged instead of having an air vavle on the end of the piggy back resuvior due to the frame design so you need to be a bit careful with fitting other shocks.

Surely those two options do exactly the opposite?
By reducing the air volume, you increase the progressiveness of the shock.

By putting a coil on, you make it more linear.

I prefer to put a higher pressure in the DHX air and run less sag, but wind out the bottom-out adjuster

It's more the way the shocks work, in terms of their design regarding the way the damping systems work in conjunction with the springs.
Although they are both DHX's the airs and Coil differ in how the system works.
