Hoping for a little more tectnical advise please with a super deluxe air . Im looking at changing the stroke length at the moment the shock is 230x57.5 but im led to belive that the stroke length can be changed to 230x65 or 62.5 by removing a spacer inside the top of the shock rather than changing the complete lower dampner. Has any one done this ?

I've done it on a 210x52.5 which took it to 55mm. You have to cut the spacer so it can't be undone (easily).
