Hi All,
Well i did something that i said i would never do, buy a secondhand fork ๐ณ
Right, it arrived with dirt in the wiper seals but luckly and am not sure how the stanchion are fine, a bit of wear just under the seal.
So ordered some new dust/wiper seals & foam rings to do a lower leg service but when i released the air from the negative chamber mayonnaise colour oil shot out???? Not sure how it got their, did not think any oil was in the air side leg.....
Just finished the lower leg service and purged the negative side chamber of the remaining muck.
Building up the bike at the moment so can`t ride it but pumping the fork by hand feels ok, seems smooth and plush like my Reba does.
How bad do you think it could be?
Cheers
SRAM service info says to put 6ml of oil in + chamber when servicing. Someone could easily have also put a bit in the - chamber. Helps to keep 'O' rings lubed. Not a big issue if its only a small amount. I would be more worried if dust came out ๐
