Ive got the choice between the 2 forks - can get the Pike 2017 for good bit lower. Is it actually worth it or will the Pike be just as good with a luftkappe? Both will be boost.
Also has anyone got any details regarding the availability of the 2018 Lyrik, cant see it anywhere online or in shops?
Stif eBay shop were selling 2017 29er Boost Lyriks RCT3 for £489 earlier in the week. Was looking at the 2018 models but at that price it was a no brainer.
As Tracey says check out Stifcycles on eBay - they still have a few 170mm 29er 2017 Lyrik RCT3 boost solo airs available for £499 and its easy to change the travel with a new air shaft. I asked Steve at Vorsprung about the Luftkappe on the newer Lyriks. His reply was: "The Luftkappe + Lyrik combination works out better overall than the Luftkappe + Pike combination"
Both 2018 models have the Charge2 damper
in them. Not sure how much difference that makes. My new 2018 Lyrics are a huge improvement on my old Fox 36s.
Biggest issue is whether you want a Lyrik or a Pike surely?
I'd got for the Lyrik unless weight is a big issue or it's for a hardtail.
Still some of them Lyriks left at £499 and now with the eBay 20% code till six tonight
