out for a road ride today with my son, his drive chain is used but was working fine, got to top of a hill he was in middle of rear cassette and changed up at the front, mech ripped of hanger, hanger bent into the cassette and chain everywhere. mech is in bits. I assume caused by chainsuck. the cassette and chain were nearing end of life, i obviously need to buy a new mech hanger, rear mech chain and cassette, could it be caused by front rings as well? any thoughts welcome

thanks most likely inner chain ring, that is the most used one?
