The rear shift cable guide on the top tube of my road bike is pulling away from the frame. Is this repairable with a decent adhesive or do I need to take it to a carbon frame repairer?

Anyone had a similar problem and carried out a repair with any tips? Didi you remove the cable guide fully or just add adhesive and clamp it back in place while is set?

Thanks

I had it happen on an alloy frame and removed the guide so that I could get both surfaces clean before bonding.
Is the guide hanging off,and does the cable run put much pressure on it?

It's the rear shifter cable, not sure if that puts a lot of pressure on or not to be honest. At the moment it's pulling away from the frame, so half on / half off. I was thinking I'd carefully remove it. Then clean and lightly sanding the surface before glueing it back on with a 2 part adhesive.

A shifter cable stop will be under very considerable pressure. Try glueing it with Araldite but I don't hold out much hope; it may turn out to be a job for a professional repairer.

Guessing the frame isn't under warranty?

Full length outers?

No, it's not under warranty. The frame is from 2008, so I've had my money's worth. It just seems excessive to scrap it for such a minor thing.
