I have a 456SS set up rigid as I use it as a commuter nowadays. This will be the case until I either get a Scandal 29er to commute on or somebody gives me a 54cms fixie frame. Afterwards the On-One is to become my pure off-roader with Fox Talas 36 or Pace RC41 or Z1SL's.
The decision needs to be made regarding the rigid forks which are now on the 456SS and will go onto a 29er later. Do I stick with the CF On-One forks I currently have or should I switch to Salsa steel jobbies I'm buying off here? One of the forks needs to go to a mate restoring his old Trek but he doesn't care which. BTW he'll give me 100 Euro for the CF or repay the cost of bringing the Salsa's over to Ireland.
Has anybody ridden both? Or at least the Salsa steel jobbie? Will it be more comfortable than the On-One? Will a 29er wheel fit the Salsa fork?
Suggestions welcome and needed.
Thanks!
