Off to S Africa just after Christmas. Staying for 7 days just south of Capetown. Managed to sort out a decent hire MTB for the week. I assume there's going to be some good stuff to ride, but any particualr recommendations at all?

You want to get yourself out to Silvermine or Tokai. The latter is a forested area around the back of Table Mountain just above Constantia. Ridng is pretty good but get out early to avoid the heat. Otherwise some amazing riding around Hermanus but a bit of a hack to get to.
Used to spend winters living in table view.Did'nt bike tho.2nd the heat thing-serously hot in the middle of the day,and windy.....very windy.Which was a good thing as I was out there windsurfing.Some amazing trails (bmx) out towards hout bay (Neethlings I think).
