Couple of quick runs round the woods tonight. One with the dog and one for some intervals (first set for a while. Ouch!).

A brief pause on the Cafall trail at Cwmcarn yesterday. It was surprisingly dry after all the recent rain.

Love that belted Galloway!

Also, always enjoy the quirky pics from @colournoise particularly when monochrome.

A brief blast along the pennine bridleway along the side of the m62 - man was it windy. Heavens opened but thankfully only in last 10 mins or so!

Most cameras have a timer & I've got used to sprinting as most rides I have no friends with me 😄

I saw a stripey belted Galloway cow for the first time last weekend!
Shouted and pointed out the van window... "did you see that stripey cow..."

No one believed me until I googled it.

Just paste URL of Instagram post into here and it will display.

Other pics need to be hosted elsewhere and you frame the image location with the IMG tags, in toolbar at top of post box.

Forty-seven mile loop from home. More than forty of those were on the road, but it’s always the off-road bit that’s most interesting 🤔

Planned a 100 km ride this morning, but road closures, and failure to read road signs, saw me out for an hour longer than planned. My one ride old Wahoo Elemnt turned on, started warming-up, then did a fantastic impersonation of a brick; so it's going back tomorrow.

My weather app told me that the light rain would stop around 08:00, when in fact there was a 30 minute deluge that would've had me looking like a drowned rat, apart from my spanking new Galibier Tempest Pro rain jacket.
A break in the deluge

I was also wearing my brand spanking new Galibier Vu Winter jacket and Ardennes gloves. My new all time favourite between seasons jacket and gloves. Brilliant the pair of them.
Heading the wrong way

Tubeless can 🤬 off. Spent ages yesterday patching both front and rear tyres, only for the rear to be nearly flat after an hour and a half. Pumped it up and continued, but then got a pinch flat in a submerged pot hole, while avoiding going under a 4x4 pick-up truck. Got some cheap road slicks and tubes coming, going to run them for the rest of the winter.
Fuck you tubeless

A sombre, short outdoor ride just before sunset, after the eldest of our two remaining guinea pigs (Rocket, almost 8) took a dramatic turn for the worse overnight and died late morning. First time I've been around when one our girls have died, who have all lived indoors with us in the lounge, can't believe how many times I've been in tears since waking just after 0500 this morning. 🙁

In the end decided to go walking for our weekend in the North York Moors. Weather was so good on Friday, although the ground conditions were testing. Fantastically pretty part of the country.

The same way you pinch flat a tube.
You just do the tyre sidewall instead of the tube...

Didn't take any photos because the weather was shite and the fact that on taking my first shot the camera announced "Battery exhausted" and shut down! Some pillock hadn't charged it.

We were down in Mid-Wales on the Bearbones Winter Event. Saturday was spent avoiding then riding into a gale, then it started raining. Stopped at Nant Syddion bothy then headed back today in more gales and a little less rain.

Overnight rain turned the claggy Northants clay into slippy sludge. Bailed on the off-road stuff half way through and headed home via country roads instead.

@rOcKeTdOg snake bite...? Whatever you call it when the tyre is cut due to the rim impacting on the tarmac and cutting your tyre. Thought that was a pinch flat... 🤷‍♂️

Well I never, everyday is a school day, maybe we should invent a tubeless pinch flat specific word. Hope you get it sorted @k1100

Again more great riding weather this weekend so managed to sneak in a little New Territories and Lantau riding in on Saturday thanks to some ferry action...

Then took part in a DH race on the Sunday, managed to bag a 3rd in the old blokes category (40-49 and 50+ groups).
