I am looking for a day ride in the Great Gable area
Prepared for some portage of bikes but would like to ride the downs if at all poss ( we are not riding gods but do do a degree of gnar )

We have twice carried up Rossitt ghyl and twice got lost in the low cloud now if I mention RG my mates threaten to kill me

langdale, stake pass, stonethwaite, seathwaite, styhead, angle tarn and rossett ghyl to finish.
prepare to suffer............... 8)

the 2 descents..............if you are good.
to be honest any ride around that area of the lakes is gonna involve a hell of a lot of carrying, both up and mabe down.

seathwaite, styhead, angle tarn

In reverse, from Angle Tarn down to Styhead, then on down to Seathwaite is a great descent. Then you could head up Langstrath from Stonethwaite and back over Stakes. There's some nice stuff over and around Great Gable itself but it's all very cheeky ๐Ÿ˜‰

Me? I'd be starting in Buttermere, going over Scarth Gap to Ennerdale, up The Tongue to the foot of Green Gable, then contouring round to the right and up onto Great Gable. Down to Styhead Tarn, down to Stockley Bridge, then ride up Honister Pass. Through the mine and up and drop down Warnscale Bottom.
