After trawling the usual suspects I thought I'd come back to my virtual bike buddies in my time of need.
Basic story is, I was living with my SO in Switzerland and the relationship went south last week. I came back to London and now am living with a friend. I work in Kew.
Most 'normal' people's homes arnt really set up for bikes and our culture, so if you have any suggestions for flat shares I am all ears! Get the word out!
No room at the Inn.
You tried findaproperty.com ?
Found mine there. 4 bikes live in our apartment ๐
Try posting on the Kingston Wheelers' forum.
Ta chaps.
If you do hear of anything please let me know.
Look on the lfgss classified forum lot of rooms go up on there in bike household all over London.
Oh that's very sad FJ. ๐ Hope things get better for you soon as.
On the bright side, you'll be able to come on some London Pootles. ๐ I plan to organise at least one every two months or so from now on.
Try spareroom.co.uk for flat / house shares.
Does it have to be near Richmond? Just that it's very expensive round there, and other areas may be a lot cheaper, get yer own place?
I can't flatshare. Bin there dun dat, duzzunt work. ๐ Need my own space, innit?
Multiple bikes could be a problem. Could you store any of them with friends/relatives? My flatmates weren't happy about my four in the flat. ๐ณ Two of them had to go in my own room.
I'm reducing my 7 to three. So storage isn't a massive problem. I also like the idea of flat share for flexibility for the moment. Never know, I might become a monk.
I might become a monk.
That bad? ๐
Then we'll have to organise a special 'Flamejob he is come back to London' Pootle for you then.
+1 www.spareroom.co.uk
I have a rental flat in Kingston but soon as it ever becomes free it gets let again immediately. Good for me but bad for tenants as the rent has gone up every time too, I am not greedy I just leave it with an agent to do.
Good luck, I follow the Kingston market (sell & rent) & anything decent goes straight away. Why not try neighbouring areas, Ham is ok & the 65 goes to Kew, or cycle along the river to work.
Ta for the suggestions. It's a weird business this not having anywhere to live.
Added to the fact that my bikes are all in limbo... Except the Brompton. Ill try and nick a bike from a friend... And some shoes... And some shorts.. And a lid.. Etc.
Do you need a hug?
Do you need an hug?
Oh yes.
FJ - if you decide to stay long term and need more space, let me know. I may have a house to rent out in a couple of months and from the tyre marks in the hallway I'd describe it as "bike friendly" ๐
